Bleached Arts, the Gold Coast’s leading independent arts organisation has launched today a new corporate identity with big plans for expanding the development of cultural and artistic intelligence within the city.

Placemakers* Gold Coast will offer a broad range of services in the cultural space including curatorial expertise in developing projects for the City with a range of stakeholders including the community, town planners, developers, local and state government.

“This is a very exciting time for our city as the talented team at Bleached Arts will move forward under the new and exciting brand of Placemakers* Gold Coast. The team will now be able to offer a wider array of culture led services to our community, corporate and government sectors.” said Placemakers* Gold Coast Chairman of Board Tony Hickey.

Best known for presenting the city’s annual contemporary arts festival, Bleach* The Gold Coast Festival, CEO and Artistic of Director of Placemakers* Gold Coast, Rosie Dennis says: “We believe everybody wins when arts and culture have a seat at the table at the outset of planning and development projects, embedding the voice of the community and enhancing the social, economic and cultural life of our city. The vision of Placemakers* is to see that arts and culture are built into every life.”

“We haven’t thrown out the old, it’s the same remarkable Bleach* team, now with a refreshed approach and a greater vision to reach out to those in the city who are looking to enhance their story, develop authentic local experiences and drive engagement around place. We want to enhance the city’s cultural footprint!”

Gold Coast have been curating transformational, culture-led experiences across the city for many years as Bleached Arts. The award-winning creative enterprise has worked on numerous major collaborations such as partnering with Opera Australia to stage the ambitious Opera on the Beach at Coolangatta. They were also the driving force behind the immersive arts experience Hotelling which saw the City, QT Hotel Gold Coast and Peppers Soul deliver a cutting-edge, pop-up performance concept unlike anything the Gold Coast had seen before.

The Placemakers* Gold Coast team were also instrumental in producing the Jewell International Kite Festival for the Yuhu Group. They have curated programs for Tourism Australia conferences, officially opened and programmed entertainment for major shopping precincts – not to mention the 2018 Commonwealth Games Athletes Welcoming Ceremony, plus many more!

Now, Placemakers* Gold Coast have revealed an additional range of culture-led services available to corporate and government bodies. “We are set to challenge expectations, change perceptions and create a unique and authentic sense of place that is sure to enhance industry as well as our city identity. The world is changing – so too is the way we need to establish business and place”, says Dennis.

The services Placemakers* Gold Coast will now offer to businesses include tailored experiences connected to place cultural activations for corporate partners, government, services like town planners and developers. Artist support services will also be integral to their new business model.
