With around 300 days of sun each year and summer temps that soar high up into the 30s, it’s safe to say we know a thing or two about cooling off poolside here on the Gold Coast.
From the super luxe to the beachside, the sky high and cocktail-friendly, we’re diving head first into some of our city’s best pools… so grab your cozzies!
Palazzo Versace, Main Beach
Glam to the max! If sipping champagne poolside in your own private cabana sounds like the dream, then indulge yourself with a trip to the palatial Palazzo Versace. An opulent oasis with a white sandy beach pool, towering palm trees and sophisticated surrounds, what takes the luxury factor up a level are the billowing cabanas on offer, which can be booked specially for the day along with decadent drinks packages. #livingmybestlife
Marriot Resort & Spa, Surfers Paradise
Tropical vibes await at the Marriott Resort and Spa, with its sensational saltwater pool that’s home to a miniature beach, slippery dip and real live fish that you can feed and snorkel with. This pool is no doubt a kid’s idea of paradise, but parents you’ll be pleased too, with its fringing cabanas, deckchairs, alfresco-style bar (cocktails, please!) and luscious garden surrounds.
Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Main Beach
Fancy a dip in a pool with seaside views served with a side of coconut palms and luxurious lagoons? Then drop anchor at the Sheraton Grand Mirage, the Coast’s only beachfront five-star resort boasting an epic pool just footsteps from the ocean. Lax-out under an umbrella in between dips with a refreshment in hand from the swim-up bar, then mosey on over to Main Beach for a swim of a saltier variety.
Peppers Soul, Surfers Paradise
Calling all mermaids! Splash the day away at Peppers Soul’s incredible outdoor swimming pool that’s perfectly positioned high above the streets of Surfers Paradise. Take in sweeping views over the esplanade and coastline beyond from the gorgeous three-tiered pool, then dry off on a comfy deckchair as you soak up that glorious GC sunshine.
Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat, Tallebudgera Valley
Slow down, unwind and recharge at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat. Tucked away in the sublime hinterland of Tallebudgera Valley, this wellness sanctuary is home to one of the most sensational infinity pools on the Gold Coast. Fringed by subtropical rainforest with A-plus views that stretch across the valley, it’s easy to see why this pool is so special.
QT Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise
It’s retro goodness all-round at QT Gold Coast with a calypso-style pool that’s pretty darn adorable and entirely Instagrammable, making those #pooltime snaps a piece of cake. While the pool itself isn’t overly expansive or ostentatious, what’s cool about it is the clever styling and funky atmosphere. Decorated with quirky furniture, tropical plants and big striped umbrellas, topped off with groovy tunes and feel-good vibes (did we mention QT have their own Spotify playlist?), we reckon you’ll rather enjoy kicking back here.
The Star Grand, Broadbeach
Bask in the balmy sunshine beside the spacious azure swimming pool at the recently revamped The Star Grand Hotel. Decked out with comfy sun loungers and chic umbrellas a-plenty, this awesome aquatic setup is an ideal spot for cooling off and chilling out, plus there’s an awesome food and drinks menu on offer.
Hotel Komune, Coolangatta
Where can you find one of the city’s only licensed beach clubs with killer ocean views, a rockin’ swimming pool and a bunch of cool stuff to do? Hotel Komune in Coolangatta, that’s where. By day or night, you’ll find only good times here with its vibrant fit out, stellar tunes, sweet-as pool area, cocktail bar, stripy beanbags and ping pong table.
AVANI Broadbeach, Broadbeach
Here’s one for the lap pool lovers – grab your goggles and hit the water at the new AVANI Broadbeach. This long and slender swimming pool is great for a spot of freestyle, and kids will love it too, with its glass feature wall that slips beneath the surface allowing swimmers to look down onto the bustling streetscape below.
