14 spots to sip champagne for Melbourne Cup

Spring racing season is upon us once again and you know what that means Gold Coasters? Champagne and fancy frocks for everyone.

Because we know you love a party as much as we do, we’ve collated a list of top spots to watch the race that stops the nation while also enjoying bulk food and beverages and probably placing the odd bet or two. Here’s where to spend the day on November 3rd, get in quick, they’re all selling fast!

Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort
In collaboration with Chandon ‘Blanc de Bloom’ make this year’s race one to remember at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort with an exquisite three-course lunch menu accompanied by a three-hour beverage package, best-dressed prizes, charity sweeps and all of the Melbourne Cup action live from Flemington.

The Club at Parkwood
Watch the race that stops the nation while you savour delicious street food and canapes, sip on drinks and sing along to live music performed by Spencer Chester. Tickets are $59pp and include eats, a two hour beverage package and of course, entertainment. Get yours here.

Atrium Bar
Gather your fellow fillies and stallions and celebrate the race that stops the nation at The Star Gold Coast and be at the centre of it all at the Atrium Bar. Enjoy with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, a selection of three wines or beers and tasty canapés.

Bine Bar & Dining
At Nobby’s favourite beer bar you’ll get a three-course feed, a three and a half hour drinks package and a very good time. Tickets are just $85 but get in quick, it’s a popular one.

The Cavill Hotel on the Park
Celebrate the Melbourne Cup in style at the Gold Coast’s newest venue. You’ll get a cocktail on arrival, a three hour food and beverage package, sweeps, fashions on the field and lucky door prizes.

Southport Sharks
Frenzy’s will offer a three-course feast, best dressed prizes, sweeps, fashions on the field and live entertainment. Tickets are $59 and selling fast.

Or delight in High Fashion & High Tea at The Aviary Rooftop Bar with High Tea towers and authentic hand-made Italian pizzas, a three-hour beverage package, a complimetary Chai-tini on arrival, a live broadcase of all races and a fashion parade for $129pp.

The Yot Club
Melbourne Cup on The YOT Club will be a day to remember. You’ll be greeted with a signature cocktail on arrival, then take your seats for a day of cruising the pristine Gold Coast waterways, all while watching the race. Choose between a Main Deck package including a three hour drinks package, premium canapes and access to the Ocean Deck Garden Bar for $195pp or the Upper Deck VIP tickets including a premium signature cocktail on arrival, a premium drinks package, a premium canapes package and access to the Ocean Deck Garden Bar for $350pp.

The Island Gold Coast
Shimmer and shine among the glamour with bubbles in one hand and an array of delicious food at your fingertips from the Spring-inspired menu. The G.H. Mumm Gala Luncheon at The Island Glasshouse from 12pm to 3.30pm includes G.H. Mumm Champagne, a three course gala luncheon, live entertainment and fashions on the field. Tickets are $209pp.

Or indulge in an exclusive seated cocktail lounge that will heighten your Melbourne Cup Day experience in the Island Penthouse. From 12pm – 3.30pm, enjoy 3.5 hours of beverages (including G.H. Mumm Champagne, select cocktails including espresso martini and Aperol spritz, premium spirits, wines, tap beers and more), a selection of substantial hot, cold and dessert canapés and share plates including fresh seafood, served to your table throughout the afternoon, live entertainment and fashions on the field, amazing prizes for best dressed Duke and Duchess, best race day hat, race day sweeps and more. Alfresco Italian Dining
It’ll be a Mambo Italiano Melbourne Cup at Alfresco Italian Dining. The family-owned business will be serving up their traditional Italian fair, the usual delicious dishes and plenty of drinks, all with a side of Melbourne Cup. Sounds good to us.

Greenmount Surf Club
It’ll be a fun day overlooking the ocean and you can choose from two package options. Option one will include an alternate drop two-course meal and a three-hour drinks package for $90pp and option two will be a will be a ‘meal-only’ ticket, including an alternate drop two-course meal and a glass of bubbles on arrival for $60pp.

The Loose Moose
Enjoy a range of their most popular tapas including drunken prawns, mixed sliders, salt and pepper squid and lamb ribs. Live entertainment by Yasmina Despot and big TV screens. With 26 beers on tap and a three hour drinks package where you can taste them all. Tickets are $180 per person – inclusive of a three-hour beverage package.

The Pink Flamingo
Giddy up and think pink at The Pink Flamingo this Melbourne Cup Day! Enjoy a day of racing, raunchiness and rivers of flowing champagne. Tickets start from $69 and you can enjoy canapés from The Collective Catering plus a glass of bubbles on arrival OR choose to indulge with the $99 beverage ticket including all of the above PLUS a four-hour beverage package. The dress code is pink and fabulous.

The Gold Coast Turf Club
Trackside is the perfect place to be to watch the race that stops the nation this year. The Event Centre Package includes entry to the racecourse, non-reserved cocktail style seating, a select beverage package including beer and wine, a grazing menu, watching on the big screen and entertainment. Tickets are $160pp.

The Collective
It’s a Spring Fling at Palmy fave The Collective Palm Beach. Celebrate in style with a four course lunch and welcome bubbles. Participate in fashions on the field or nominated your friends for fun! The race will be shown on a huge 4m screen so you won’t miss a moment. We’ve also got live music and a DJ to finish off the afternoon with some good old fashioned dancing! Tickets are $99pp.
