UGG Since 1974: Why it’s important more than ever to support local

Dominica Czaczka | May 2020

In the backstreets of industrial Miami lies a workshop dedicated to crafting quality UGG boots. There are no conveyor belts or mass production lines; simply talented craftsmen tirelessly working away on one-of-a-kind leathers and the woolliest of Australian merino sheepskins.

From humble beginnings in an Australian woolshed, UGG Since 1974 is a third-generation, family-owned business that prides itself fiercely on remaining Australian in the wake of ever-growing international competition. The Gold Coast company’s handmade approach has seen sales flourish amidst a retail downturn in the face of Covid-19, as consumers turn to support local, quality Australian-made goods over cheap mass-produced products from overseas.
