National Volunteer Week – making a world of difference
National Volunteer Week runs from 20 to 26 May and provides a great opportunity for us all to say thank you to the thousands of people who volunteer their time and skills to help make our community stronger, and let them know their efforts and commitment are appreciated.
They generously offer their time and skills, and in doing so, volunteers make a real difference in the lives of others.
Gold Coasters are famously giving of their time; over 65,000 of us volunteer each year. It was only just over a year ago that 4,300 Gold Coast residents were volunteers for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Volunteering is a great way to support your community, make new friends and learn new skills, and just a few hours of volunteering can make a world of difference.
There are many volunteering opportunities available, ranging from one-off events to regular roles. There could be one that’s just perfect for you!
