Queensland Surf Life Saving Championships
Held the week after the Youth Champs, the Seniors and Masters Championships are SLSQ’s pinnacle event on the Queensland surf sports calendar, showcasing some of surf lifesaving’s greatest rivalries.
The Championships see more than 1,800 adult lifesavers from Port Douglas right down to Rainbow Bay hit the beach to battle the surf, sand and each other in their quest for state glory.
Every discipline is on show from the iconic Ironmen and women competitions, individual board, ski and swim, to traditional lifesaving events such as R&R and the iconic March-Past.
Queensland continues to produce the world’s top surf sports athletes, and the Championships provide an opportunity for competitors to put their skills and training to the ultimate test at a world class event.
The blue-ribbon event is a culmination of various smaller carnivals held throughout the season and not only sees many athletes walk away with State medals, but also provides an important platform for competitors heading into the Australian Championships.
