Moon Light Night!

Moon Light Night is a modern twist on the traditional harvest festival celebrating the full moon with lanterns as well as:

  • a light show at 7pm and 9pm
  • illumination theming
  • food stalls
  • kids activities
  • table tennis
  • laneway bar
  • cultural entertainment


Enjoy free live music with South Korean YouTube sensation, Baby Shark giving two live performances at 4.30pm and 6.00pm!

Soul and funk artist, Lisa Hunt will be pumping out all of your favourite tunes to close the evening, supported by The Steele Syndicate a genre-bending Octet and the Oogars an all-female Quartet.

Getting to Moon Light Night is easy - ride the G to Southport station or ride your bike.

Bring along your family and friends to celebrate Moon Light Night in the heart of Southport, Gold Coast Chinatown, Young and Davenport Street Southport on Saturday 12th October 4pm to 9pm.

Moon Light Night is a free event delivered by the City of Gold Coast in partnership with Australia Fair Metro and proudly supported by Channel Nine Gold Coast.

Events held in Gold Coast Chinatown come alive with Asian culture, children’s activities and entertainment. These events offer a blend of cuisines from across Asia, or explore one of the many restaurants in Gold Coast Chinatown and enjoy the atmosphere.

Bottled water will not be sold to help reduce the amount of waste produced at the event – instead, free water refills will be available so don’t forget to bring your own bottle.
