World-class Sound Stages
Since inception, Village Roadshow Studios has more than doubled the number of Sound Stages at its facility to nine. It is home to the largest sound stage in the Southern Hemisphere - Sound Stage 9. With a surface area 3,716 metres squared (40,000 sq ft) Sound Stage 9 was used by the production team for Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok. In April 2018, Sound Stage 9 played host to the squash, table tennis, boxing competitions and badminton training for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Following the phenomenal success of international blockbusters Thor: Ragnarok; Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales; and Kong: Skull Island that each generated more than $500 million at the box office, Village Roadshow Studios continues to lure film makers from across the globe to the Gold Coast region.

Largest film water tank in Australia
Village Roadshow Studios is home to one of the world’s the largest purpose-built film water tanks. With a surface area of 1200 sqm (12,915 sq ft.) the tank has state-of the-art filtration and heating systems that allows the tank water to be heated to 32° Celsius (89° Fahrenheit). Holding over six million litres of water, the tank also allows for both surface and underwater sequences and has been utilised by a number of big-name films including The Shallows starring Blake Lively and Fools Gold starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. In 2017 the tank was extensively used during a five month residence for Warner Bro’s Aquaman starring Jason Momoa.
