Supported by the City of Gold Coast, Griffith University, Gold Coast Health and the Queensland Government, the GCHKP is already home to the world-class Griffith University (including the leading Institute for Glycomics), the Gold Coast University Hospital, a major Australian teaching hospital, and the cutting-edge new Gold Coast Private Hospital. The Precinct offers a uniquely dynamic, collaborative environment for global health and knowledge companies and organisations to invest, cluster and grow. The GCHKP hosts the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Athletes Village™, to be transformed into a vibrant $550 million mixed-use community to live, work and learn, in what is the city's largest-ever urban renewal project. Already employing almost 10,000 people and home to almost 20,000 students, once fully developed the GCHKP is expected to inject $2.9 billion into the local economy, and employ up to 26,000 people. The investment opportunity

Greenfield Land

With a combination of expertise, infrastructure, land, location and lifestyle unique in Australia - nine hectares of prime greenfield land are available for health and innovation investment, serviced by the Gold Coast light rail and with easy transport access, and surrounded by a vibrant residential community and seven hectares of parkland. Greenfield sites boast the latest in telecommunications connectivity with high-speed fibre optic cabling, in flexible lot sizes ranging up to 21,000 GFA, with no height restrictions. Innovation cluster

The precinct provides a dynamic location for business to cluster and grow – from incubators and co-working spaces through to anchor tenant opportunities. Co-locate adjacent to a research intensive university, clinically-driven teaching hospital and a range of successful businesses. Tenancy options will be available from 2019, with earlier opportunities post-GC2018 to take advantage of temporary Games infrastructure for start-up incubation and collaboration. Griffith University's industry-led Advanced Design and Prototyping Technologies Institute (ADaPT), also offers exciting commercial collaboration opportunities, with an initial facility opening from 2018.

Pathways and partnerships

Pathway opportunities into the precinct through clinical trials, supply chain opportunities and research and commercial partnerships are also available. From specialised medical simulation training to a broad range of conference and event facilities, the Precinct is developing as an Asia-Pacific medical training and research hub. R&D facilities in the GCHKP span the full spectrum across clinical and biomedical laboratories, industrial and engineering labs and access to specialised micro and nano technology clean room facilities and the latest in advanced 3D printing, design and prototyping equipment. Facilities are available for Phase 1-4 clinicial trials.

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

The GCHKP represents a smart investment in Australia’s fastest growing major city, with a stable, diversifying economy and lifestyle second to none. The precinct includes the $550 million Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™ Athletes Village, that will transform into a mixed-use master-planned community incorporating a seven-hectare residential and retail precinct, seven hectares of parklands and open space, and nine hectares that are available for health and knowledge investment.

The Athletes Village will house 6,500 athletes and team officials travelling from more than 70 Commonwealth nations and territories to the Gold Coast for the Games. The legacy will be a permanent residential community with 1252 dwellings, comprising a mix of apartments and townhouses, with a 5700 square metre retail precinct and green landscaped spaces built around a 'Village Heart.' Temporary Games buildings may also be re-purposed as innovation and incubation space.
